McAndrews, Held & Malloy Client Broadcom Corporation Ranked Among Top Global Patent Producers International Asset Management (IAM) magazine ranked McAndrews, Held & Malloy client Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM) among the top global patent producers. Based on the number of its U.S. patents granted from 2006 to 2008, Broadcom placed #5 in the semiconductors category and #33 among the “Global Top 1000 Patent Producers” across all technology categories. Based on its market capitalization, sales and R&D expenditures, Broadcom also was ranked #3 among the top 20 publicly traded companies with the greatest gain in ranking between 1996-98 and 2006-08. IAM analyzed the world’s largest patent producers, assuming that their patenting activity is an indication of their level of investment in IP assets. The rankings appeared in the July/August 2010 issue of IAM.
