Timothy J. Malloy has been listed in Best Lawyers since 1999. Nationally recognized for his IP litigation successes, Malloy has been involved in numerous multi-million-dollar verdicts, awards and settlements, and has served as lead counsel in trials throughout the country. He has also engaged in numerous, highly successful arbitrations and mediations. Malloy was featured in the inaugural “IAM 1,000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners,” was named one of the “Top 10 Intellectual Property Lawyers in Illinois” by Leading Lawyers Magazine and was characterized by Chambers USA as an “Outstanding Trial Lawyer.” Malloy is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. John J. Held was first included in the Best Lawyers listing in 2006. He counsels and works with clients concerning the scope and protection of their patent, trademark and copyright rights, and the enforcement and licensing of their IP rights. Held has successfully counseled clients in numerous patent, trademark and copyright infringement actions (jury trials, bench trials and mediations) and in Patent and Trademark Office patent appeals, patent interferences and trademark oppositions/cancellation proceedings. His other IP counseling, procurement and enforcement activities have focused on products in a wide spectrum of industries, including automotive parts and equipment, web handling and processing equipment, software products, refuse handling equipment, electronic receptacles and fittings, computer jukeboxes and games, sporting goods and consumer products. Troy A. Groetken has been listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2012. He has more than 15 years of experience in the intellectual property field and more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnological and chemical fields. As a registered U.S. patent practitioner, Groetken regularly counsels Fortune 100 and 500 companies on complex IP matters involving patent portfolio development, implementation and enforcement; advises upon and institutes multi-level front-end and back-end licensing programs coordinated with a client-centered business modeling approach; and addresses multi-jurisdictional intellectual property integration issues, ranging from core and non-core patent portfolio due diligence analysis to global portfolio coordination matters, among others.
