Two McAndrews, Held & Malloy Attorneys Selected for Inaugural WIPR Leaders Guide

04.25.16

McAndrews, Held & Malloy shareholder and chairman Timothy J. Malloy and shareholder Peter J. McAndrews were nominated by their peers for World IP Review’s (WIPR) inaugural WIPR Leaders, a comprehensive guide to the “best patent and trademark lawyers” worldwide.

For the last several months, WIPR Leaders contacted more than 15,000 in-house counsel and private practice attorneys to identify the leading IP professionals for inclusion in this guide. WIPR’s research team then vetted each individual, and nominees were chosen based on their practice history, notable cases and their involvement in the wider IP community through speaking engagements, published articles, and academic and association involvement. Unlike many listings and guides in the market, WIPR Leaders features a profile of every Leader identified.

At McAndrews, Tim Malloy focuses on litigation and arbitrating patent cases. He works with companies in the electronic, mechanical, chemical, medical device and pharmaceutical industries. One of his notable cases was representing Eli Lilly in its patent dispute with Medtronic at the US Supreme Court. He also secured a $166 million patent judgment for ACS in a dispute with Medtronic. Malloy has numerous publications regarding litigating and arbitrating patent cases. He serves on the Advisory Council for the University of Notre Dame Law School and has been active on the diversity initiative called Link Unlimited.

Pete McAndrews has assisted clients for more than 20 years with patent and trademark litigation, acquisition and counselling. He works with companies in the electronics, computer, communications, medical device, packaging, and mechanical industries. Recently, he has had significant success for his clients in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board. McAndrews obtained a Juris Doctor cum laude from John Marshall Law School, a certificate from the University of Notre Dame, London Centre for Legal Studies, and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Marquette University.
