Illinois Super Lawyers and Leading Lawyers Directories Announce 2009 Honorees
CHICAGO, IL – Feb. 12, 2009 – McAndrews, Held & Malloy announced today that four of the firm’s shareholders were selected for inclusion in Illinois Super Lawyers 2009 and 18 attorneys were honored by Leading Lawyers Network as among the state’s top peer-recommended IP law attorneys.
In addition, 13 McAndrews attorneys were named Illinois Rising Stars in intellectual property law or litigation for 2009.
Published by Law & Politics, Illinois Super Lawyers 2009 listed founding partner John J. Held as a leading IP attorney, and founding partners George P. McAndrews and Timothy J. Malloy and shareholder Edward W. Remus as top IP litigation attorneys. Illinois Super Lawyers honorees are selected through nominations and evaluations by their peers and research by the publisher. Only 5 percent of Illinois’ total lawyers are selected each year.
Held, McAndrews, Malloy and Remus also were recognized as 2009 Leading Lawyers in IP law, along with shareholders Patrick J. Arnold, Jr., Robert W. Fieseler, Priscilla F. Gallagher, Steven J. Hampton, Herbert D. Hart III, Lawrence M. Jarvis, Jean Dudek Kuelper, Edward A. Mas II, Alejandro Menchaca, Stephen F. Sherry, Gregory J. Vogler, William M. Wesley, George F. Wheeler and Thomas J. Wimbiscus. In addition, Leading Lawyers Network also named McAndrews and Malloy among the top 100 business lawyers in Illinois for 2009.
The Leading Lawyers are recommended by their peers as top lawyers in statewide surveys. Leading Lawyers Network is a division of Law Bulletin Publishing Company, which publishes Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer magazine.
McAndrews attorneys selected as Illinois Rising Stars for 2009 are shareholders Joseph M. Barich, Christopher V. Carani, Mirut P. Dalal, Sandra A. Frantzen, Troy A. Groetken, Scott P. McBride, Dean A. Pelletier, Wil Rao, Jonathan R. Sick and Ronald (Hank) Spuhler; partners Merle S. Elliott and Hopeton S. Walker; and associate Patrick V. Bradley.
According to Illinois Rising Stars publisher Law & Politics, honorees are the state’s top up-and-coming attorneys – all of whom must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less. The list recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of the total lawyers in any state.
“We are thrilled that our firm and attorneys have been recognized as leaders in our field, especially since candidates are nominated by their peers,” said founding partner and board chairman George P.
