Since joining the firm in 2002, Andrew’s practice has encompassed nearly all aspects of patent law, including patent procurement, opinions, due diligence, counseling, litigation, dispute resolution, and post-grant proceedings. Today, he focuses much of his time obtaining and protecting patents in complex electrical, computer, and software fields for a wide range of clients, including diversified multi-national corporations and start-ups.  Andrew has a wide variety of experience in diverse areas, such as cellular and wireless technologies (CDMA, WiFi, 3G, 4G, LTE), DSL, image sensors, semiconductor fabrication, 3D image processing, computer memory, digital and analog circuit design, LED and OLED technologies, RFID, processor architecture, encryption, anti-spyware, medical imaging, air purification, and vehicle electrical systems, to name a few.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Andrew worked for about ten years as an electrical engineer. During this time, he developed and designed products (both software and hardware), such as lighting controls, distributed operating systems, embedded systems, networked devices, home appliances, capacitive sensors, and vehicle sound systems.

Andrew particularly enjoys working with inventors to help them understand the law and to encourage creative thinking in the patent space. By providing the right tools to clients, he has helped to maximize the value of their patent portfolios.
