Professional Experience
Justin joined McAndrews, Held & Malloy as a law clerk in 2007 and became a full time associate in 2009. Since joining the firm, Justin has gained experience in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation covering a variety of technological and business areas.
Justin graduated from the University of Chicago Law School with high honors in 2009. During law school, Justin received awards for best academic performance in several of his courses. Based on his academic achievements, Justin was named a Kirkland & Ellis Scholar, an award given to a select group of students at the University of Chicago. Upon graduation, he was elected to the Order of the Coif by vote of the University of Chicago faculty.
Prior to law school, Justin worked for Abbott Laboratories, Monsanto Company, and Abraxis Bioscience in various process engineering, project engineering, and management roles. From these experiences, Justin gained significant knowledge in a diverse range of chemical, mechanical, biotech, and electrical technology. Most recently, at Abraxis Bioscience, Justin was responsible for the design and installation of the manufacturing process for a breast cancer treatment that incorporated nanoparticle technology. Following the successful launch of the drug, Justin was in charge of a group of engineers and mechanics responsible for optimizing and maintaining the manufacturing process.
As an undergraduate studying chemical engineering at the University of Iowa, Justin completed extensive coursework in areas such as process design, reaction kinetics, fluid dynamics, and materials science. In addition, he worked throughout his undergraduate career in laboratories conducting research into biotechnology, organic chemistry, and photochemistry. While at the University of Iowa, Justin received numerous academic scholarships and awards for his achievements.
