Professional Experience
Stephen’s practice includes all aspects of intellectual property law. He has valuable litigation experience drafting briefs and making arguments in federal court, he has prepared patent and trademark applications, and he has experience with licensing and due diligence matters. He has worked with diverse technologies including high-definition television tuners, wireless networking, electronic financial exchanges, medical devices, and pharmaceutical drugs.
Recently, Stephen was a co-author of an amicus brief filed with the Supreme Court in Bowman v. Monsanto on behalf of more than twenty universities and university-related institutions. View File.
Stephen was selected as a 2013 Super Lawyers Illinois Rising Star. In law school, Stephen was elected to the Order of the Coif and received several other academic awards. He also gained valuable experience as a judicial intern for the Honorable Justice N. Patrick Crooks of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Prior to law school, Stephen worked for Accenture as an information technology consultant. During that time, he designed and implemented technical solutions for two agencies within the federal government.
