Professional Experience
Tanvi joined McAndrews, Held & Malloy as a law clerk in 2009 and as a full time associate in 2011.  Tanvi has gained experience in a variety of technological areas and all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent litigation, patent prosecution, and trademark prosecution.  Her litigation work includes pre-suit investigation and assessment, motion practice, including summary judgment practice, discovery, and trial preparation.

Prior to law school, Tanvi worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in the Electric Power Generation group.  While at Caterpillar, Tanvi worked with various engineering groups resolving customer driven technical engine inquiries, researching and implementing emissions reduction solutions, creating and implementing product training for sales teams and drafting technical product literature.

Tanvi graduated cum laude from DePaul University College of Law.  During law school, Tanvi was selected on the Appellate team of the Moot Court Society where she competed in appellate brief writing and oral advocacy at two national moot court competitions: Irving R. Kaufman Memorial Securities Law Moot Court Competition, and James Braxton Craven Jr. Moot Court Competition at the University of North Carolina School of Law (semi-finalist).  Tanvi was selected to the Order of the Barristers honor society for her excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing skills.  

Tanvi received her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois.  While at the University of Illinois, Tanvi received the award for Best Bio-Engineering Senior Design Project and received the Excellence in Physics Scholarship.  Tanvi also gained laboratory experience during her internships through the Beckman Institute and her work with the graduate student research group, Cube Sat UIUC.
