Christopher Singer, Ph.D., is a Shareholder at McAndrews who concentrates his practice on securing patent rights in life science technologies such as biotechnology, chemistry, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. His experience encompasses patent prosecution and global patent portfolio management, including due diligence, patent validity and infringement, freedom-to-operate, technology landscape and patentability analyses. Among clients he serves are global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, national universities and international chemical companies, as well as start-up companies and individual inventors.

Chris’s patent prosecution expertise extends over the full range of biological and chemical technologies. Among his specific areas of interest are antibodies, RNAi (siRNA), eukaryotic and prokaryotic genetics, recombinant organisms and expression systems, vaccines, proteins and enzymes, assays and diagnostic systems and methods (e.g., protein/DNA microarrays, cell-based arrays, microfluidics, micro/nanoparticles, histological, immunological, and fluorescence-based), detection techniques (MRI, NMR, ESI-MS and MALDI-MS), medical devices, energy generation methods and systems (gasification processes, including use of biomass), personalized medicine, small molecule pharmaceuticals and methods of treatment, synthetic methods, generation of synthetic chemical intermediates, alloys, pesticide compositions, therapeutic oral and transdermal delivery systems and formulations, cleaning compositions and equipment, coatings, dyes, and dentifrices.
