Jae-Hu Kim Associate
Jae Kim is an Associate at McAndrews. He has significant experience in the field of patent law, including preparing and prosecuting many applications in various areas of the electrical and mechanical arts.
Prior to McAndrews, Jae worked for Coriant, formerly Tellabs, as in-house IP Counsel. There, he handled IP matters including managing outside attorneys and reviewing their preparation and prosecution work, litigation support, due diligence regarding infringement assertions, and counseling employees, as well as drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
Before Coriant, Jae worked for McAndrews drafting and prosecuting patent applications for various technologies, ranging from optical transport and routing systems to RF modulation and voice processing algorithms.
Prior to changing his career to patent law, Jae was a design engineer at Lucent Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, Zenith and various other high-tech companies where he did hardware and software work. His hardware experience ranges from system level to chips (ASICs), and his software background ranges from boot code in assembly to high-level design in C. He has been involved with various facets of cellular base stations, telecommunication switches, personal computers, laser printers, color copiers/printers, and radar systems.
