Dunstan Barnes, Ph.D., to Speak on Design Patent Protection at AIPPI-US Global Education Forum

McAndrews, Held & Malloy associate Dunstan H. Barnes, Ph.D., is scheduled to speak at the AIPPI-US Global IP Educational Forum, a one-day CLE program that provides a detailed look into the hottest issues in many areas of intellectual property law. The program, scheduled for July 13, 2017, is co-hosted by the AIPPI-US division of AIPLA and The John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

In-house counsel, private practitioners, and IP managers whose companies and clients need protection of their IP in the U.S. and abroad are encouraged to attend. Key topics include:

  • Patent post-grant proceedings in the U.S., Europe, and Korea.
  • Recent decisions from the U.S. Supreme Court and the Federal Circuit.

Dr. Barnes’s program session is titled “Recent Developments in Design Patent Law.” At McAndrews, he Barnes focuses his practice on protecting and analyzing design rights, including drafting and prosecuting design patent applications, and conducting opinion work and due diligence investigations. Dr. Barnes also has experience drafting and prosecuting trademark applications and utility patent applications in a wide range of technological fields and industries.
