In the Managing IP article, “Too much too soon? Firms reveal AI expectations,” Bob Surrette is quoted about the impact artificial intelligence will have on intellectual property law. Bob believes that “it’s not going to be this panacea that’s going to change our industry.” He sees AI as being helpful for tactical activities like developing a tool to review contracts in a particular way, but he says it is a stretch at this juncture to believe it will deliver “transformative technology.” And his bottom line: “AI won’t be able to replace lawyers when it comes to providing legal judgment.”
