McAndrews Chairman and founding partner Timothy J. Malloy and his wife Patti received the “Mentor Merit Award” from LINK Unlimited Scholars, one of Chicago’s highest performing and longest running high school mentoring and scholarship programs. The Malloys were honored for the advice, encouragement, support and mentorship they have provided during the high school years of seven different scholars, resulting in 28 consecutive years of service. They are one of only three couples to be recognized for such a remarkable length of service, from among more than 100 recipients of the award.

Founded in 1966, LINK has successfully prepared more than 1,900 economically disadvantaged African American youth for college admissions and persistence by providing academic support, scholarships and one-on-one mentoring through the high school years and beyond. Mentor Merit Awards are bestowed upon volunteer mentors who have guided three or more LINK Scholars, completing at least 12 years of active mentorship.

Margie Morris, Director of Mentor Recruitment & Relations at LINK, said “Tim and Patti’s dedication to the academic and personal success of seven LINK Scholars serves as an inspiration to the entire LINK family. We offer our deepest gratitude to them.”
