November 11 2017- McAndrews, Held & Malloy Shareholder Sandra A. Frantzen was recently elected president of the Arab American Bar Association of Illinois (AABAR). The Arab American Bar Association of Illinois is a professional association of attorneys dedicated to the rule of law, equal justice, fellowship, legal education, and community service. AABAR is committed to the principle of quality legal representation for all, regardless of background. Frantzen has been involved in the AABAR for over fifteen years, recently serving as Vice President. Frantzen’s role with AABAR was previously featured in Chicago Lawyer magazine and Frantzen was honored for her achievements by AABAR and the Decalogue Society at an event “Celebrating Women in the Legal Profession.”
Frantzen practices a broad range of intellectual property law focusing on patent, litigation, and client counseling in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Her work includes formulating litigation and dispute resolution strategy, appearing and arguing in court as lead trial counsel, participating in and preparing for jury trials and arbitration proceedings, and working with witnesses and experts. Frantzen also regularly advises clients on strategic IP development, acquisition, protection and enforcement with a focus on value. Frantzen serves as a member of the Advisory Council at the Iraqi Mutual Aid Society, an organization dedicated to assisting Iraqi and other Arabic-speaking refugees and immigrants. In 2014, she was featured as one of the “40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch.”
