McAndrews, Held & Malloy is pleased to announce its support once again of the Chicago Legal Clinic’s (CLC) upcoming Awards Reception on May 16, 2013. The event will honor attorneys and firms for their outstanding efforts in making the legal system accessible to those in need.
The CLC provides community-based legal services and education to the underserved and disadvantaged in the Chicago area by offering direct legal counseling and high-quality representation on a pro bono or low-cost basis. The not-for-profit organization has served over 300,000 people, focusing on the areas of immigration, domestic violence, housing issues, children’s rights, the rights of those with disabilities, bankruptcy, public benefits and urban environmental cases. This year alone, more than 40,000 clients will be served.
McAndrews, Held & Malloy shareholder Sharon A. Hwang is a Board Member of the CLC and currently serves as its Secretary. Many of the firm’s attorneys are actively involved with various nonprofits and charities within the community.
