A Bloomberg Law article, “An Inventor’s Court Win Over Microsoft Took Years – at What Cost?” highlights the time, money, and resources that it can take to protect a patent. Inventor Michael Kaufman was able to utilize resources from a legal finance provider to secure a $10 million victory against Microsoft. Eligio said, “It’s unusual for one person to have the finances to spend the time Kaufman did on this case.” He also noted that some companies view these types of suits as a nuisance and that inventors need to be taken seriously. “You don’t stop fighting the gorilla when you’re tired. The fight’s not over until it’s over.”
