McAndrews, Held & Malloy Welcomes Patent Attorney and Former Ohio National Guard Officer Matthew Marrone as an Associate

August 31, 2016 – Chicago – McAndrews, Held & Malloy announced today the addition of Matthew Marrone as an Associate. Marrone focuses his practice on all areas of intellectual property law and has years of experience preparing, prosecuting and defending patent applications. He will join the firm’s ranks of attorneys, agents and tech specialists who have education degrees and professional experience in technology and IP-focused industries.

Prior to joining the firm, Marrone worked as a patent attorney at a local law firm in Cleveland, where he prosecuted more than 500 U.S., European, Japanese and other foreign patent applications. He also worked as a patent agent for Avery Dennison Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, and served as a logistical officer in the Ohio National Guard, which included deployments to Kosovo and Kuwait. His work within these roles, along with his physics teaching position at an international high school in Beijing, provides Marrone with extensive knowledge of the electrical, software, communications and computer system technology sectors.

While attending Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Marrone earned a certificate in intellectual property, with honors, and served as a student representative for the ABA Veteran’s Advocacy Initiate.
