John J. Held FounderJohn Held, a founding partner of McAndrews, has counseled and worked with clients concerning the scope and protection of their patent, trademark and copyright rights, and the enforcement and licensing of their intellectual property rights. John has counseled clients in numerous patent, trademark and copyright infringement actions (jury trials, bench trials and mediations) and in Patent and Trademark Office patent appeals, patent interferences and trademark oppositions/cancellation proceedings. His other IP counseling, procurement and enforcement activities have focused on products in a wide spectrum of industries, including automotive parts and equipment, web handling and processing equipment, software products, refuse handling equipment, electronic receptacles and fittings, computer jukeboxes and games, sporting goods and consumer products. In addition, John has been involved with a variety of activities with local professional bar associations, his alma mater and the Chicagoland community. He was selected by the Legal Services Corporation to receive an award for his pro bono efforts with the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago (LAF). John has volunteered at LAF for more than 10 years and during that time has provided legal services to hundreds of low-income and elderly clients through the Foundation. EDUCATION
