Leland G. Hansen ShareholderLeland G. Hansen is a shareholder at McAndrews with extensive experience in complex intellectual property litigation and transactional matters including contract negotiation, licensing, and due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. He also counsels clients on valuing intellectual property portfolios and strategic planning for portfolio development and monetization. In addition, Leland is leading an initiative at McAndrews for technology transfer offices that will help them identify and develop licensing partners and build portfolios that optimally leverage industry and marketplace dynamics. Recognized in both the IAM Patent 1000 Guide and Lawdragon’s list of 500 Leading Global IP Lawyers, he has served as lead counsel before federal district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and in contested proceedings at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, including reexamination and inter partes review. Leland has also served as lead counsel in alternative dispute resolution proceedings such as mediation and binding arbitration, both domestically and internationally. Leland’s practice spans a wide variety of technologies, including medical devices, biopharmaceuticals, angioplasty catheters and stents, antibody engineering, surgical equipment, nutritional supplements, contraceptive devices, cell expression systems, air conditioning equipment, information and communication systems, truck trailers, hearing aids, papermaking machines, railcars, refuse collection vehicles, and combustion systems.
