Jonathan Ko Ph.D., Of CounselJonathan Ko is Of Counsel for McAndrews. Before working for McAndrews, Jonathan opened his own solo practice focusing on trademark and patent prosecution. While working, he earned an electrical engineering degree, graduating magna cum laude. He also participated in Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society and received an Impact Award from the Fulton Schools of Engineering. Previously, he clerked at a state court, state attorney’s office, and state appellate prosecutor’s office, and worked for a not-for-profit law firm enforcing civil rights. In addition, Jonathan has experience working in several university laboratories and a national laboratory. His work in those positions focused on fields including neuroscience, x-ray crystallography, synthetic biology, computational molecular sciences, and systems biology. These experiences involved signal processing in brain-machine interfaces, Fourier analysis, flux balance analysis, and computational modeling on a cluster using density functional theory. Jonathan serves as resident of the Washington Attorneys with Disabilities Association and the Minority Bar Association for law professionals with disabilities in Washington State. He also participates in a number of advisory boards including Able Community Chicago, the Assistive Technology Board at Harborview Medical Center, and the Disability Justice Task Force created by the Washington Supreme Court.
